Looking for a quick guide for places of interest in Kuala Lumpur (the Garden City of Lights), the capital city of Malaysia? Then there is no need to look any further than this article. Please read on for 6 places that are "hot in Kuala Lumpur!

* Petronas Towers
At one time the tallest buildings in the world, the Petronas Towers rise up to 452 meters above ground level. The world's tallest "structure" accolade now goes to Burj Dubai, in DUbai. Within the confines of the Towers are the Petronas Philharmonic Hall, the Petronas Art Gallery and also the KLCC Aquaria which as the name suggests is an oceanic aquarium filled with various sea life from sharks to stingrays. Below the Petronas Towers is Suria KLCC, one of the largest shopping centers in Malaysia. You can in fact visit the Towers and there is a guide who takes people up to the 41st floor on a regular basis. Its wise to go early morning however as there is a big demand for this.

* Kuala Lumpur Tower
Menara Kuala Lumpur or Kuala Lumpur Tower was built in 1995 and is situated in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. It stands at 421 meters high and is the 6th tallest tower in the world. If you feel like having a fantastic view of all of Kuala Lumpur then you will find inside the tower a revolving restaurant, which would be a marvellous experience for any tourist to have.

* The National Museum
The Muzium Negara is situated just outside Perdana Lake Gardens and is built in the style of a Rumah Gadang. Situated on top of a hill at Jalan Travers, it serves visitors as an introduction to the culture and history of Malaysia.

* The National Palace
The National Palace or Istana Negara is where the King of Malaysia resides. Between 1945 (after the Japanese occupation of Malaysia ended) and 1957 it was home to the SUltan of Selangor but then the Federal Government acquired it for the King.

* The National Mosque
The National Mosque is situated within 13 acres of beautiful gardens and has a capacity for 15 thousand people. It was built in 1965. The key features are the 73 meter high minaret and also an 18-pointed star which is the main roof of the building. Various reflecting pools and fountains are situated around the gardens to add to the relaxing atmosphere.

* The Central Market
This was the main fish market of the city and is also known as Pasar Seni. However, now the main offerings are antiques and paintings, arts and crafts, clothes and souvenirs for the traveler. The building is designed in the old British colonnial style.
